Welcome to the Hotel Pennsylvania

Welcome to New York's Hotel Pennsylvania. We're one of the five largest hotels in Manhattan (over 1700 rooms!) with an impressive history. Our location in the heart of midtown is directly opposite Madison Square Garden and Amtrak's Penn Station. Macy's, the world's largest department store, is one block up the street. The Empire State building? It's around the corner. The Javits Center? It's a few blocks away. So too is the Theatre District. New York's Hotel Pennsylvania is in the center of the action! New York's Hotel Pennsylvania is centrally located in midtown at 7th avenue at 33rd street, across from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. We're in the heart of both the shopping and business capitals of the world. Macy's department store is across the street; The Empire State Building is just two blocks away. See an award winning show on Broadway, or explore one of New York's great museums. The choices are endless. ...read more

Comfy bed and clean bathroom.
Hallways sort of dark.

Perfect NYC hotel location. We always wind up here and the price is right.

The hotel had a nice lobby.
The room was horrible, there was spoiled food left in the refrigerator.

The room was very small and it was clean enough to be comfortable. The bathroom was mess, the bathtub was dirty and there wasn't any hot water.

Comfortable lobby.
Ceiling pain peeling, chipped walls, can hear everything in the rooms next door.

I like the convenience of this hotel being across the street from Penn Station. However, the ceiling paint was peeling, the doorway to the bathroom was badly chipped, the door ward looked dirty, and I could hear everything in the room next door. I didn't like that the people next door came in at 4am, very loud, and I could hear everything. ...read more

Location.
20 words are not enough!

I was shocked when I entered the room, only one chair, bed one table no closet where should one put the close no hangers, no closet. The bathroom was: sink was broken towel holder without the support bath top looked not clean the mirror silver frame looked like being on the see for 1000 years and never repaired. The room and the bathroom needs a paint job. I know you cant get the plaza hotel for under $100. ...read more

Its right next to everything u don’t have to walk far to see something.
Check in is taking a long time.

Its pretty good, I like it because it’s close to time square and other things.

Location, as was described in other reviews, is very good - central to everything.
Check in was slow even though it was not busy. The room was not in the best shape (but what can you expect for the modest price - for New York).

Good location. Given the relatively modest price, the room was fine. Could use new beds though.

Location.
2 of the 4 lights did not work.

This hotel was very economy. The location was perfect. The rooms were rather old and worn looking, but were mostly clean. Two of the four lights did not work, and there were exposed power outlets in the room. Housekeeping was very prompt, but the attitude of the front desk staff left much to be desired. We called this hotel Old Sparky because of the outlets, the fizzing light in the hotel room, and the fact that whenever we touched the elevator buttons we got an electric shock. ...read more

Charming building and rooms in the grand tradition in the heart of Manhattan.
Lengthy queue to book in (over one hour) with only two staff working.

The experience was great, but the price gouging was outrageous.
